Building on its success on cross-app communication launched about a year ago, FB said it was now adding group cross-app communication. With this update, people will be able to start group chats between their Instagram & Messenger contacts. Within these cross-app group chats, you can continue to customize your chat experience with chat themes & custom reactions.

FB was also introducing polls to your Instagram DMs & group chats with friends across Messenger & Instagram, making it easier for the group to decide which new show is most binge-worthy or which restaurant to go to next weekend.

Personalization Tools

To experience the popularized Gen Z aesthetic, Facebook said it was also launching the Cottagecore chat theme. The theme is inspired by a romanticized pastoral world, & now, users can personalize their chats with this new theme.

FB clarified that users would still have the same controls over who can reach them. With delivery controls, users decide who reaches their Chats List, who goes to their Message Request folder, & who is blocked.
