Apple has terminated the well-known weather app Dark Sky. According to a report in MacRumors, the app stopped working for current users as of today after being pulled from the App Store in September 2022.
After purchasing Dark Sky in March 2020, Apple included several of the app’s capabilities to the Weather app that comes pre-installed on the iPhone, iPad, & Mac. The Weather app now features “hyperlocal” forecasts, such as next-hour precipitation, hourly forecasts for the next 10 days, high-resolution radar maps, & severe weather notifications. Apple posted a support page with instructions on how Dark Sky customers can utilize the Weather app earlier this month.
