Gaming company ‘Panic’ is hoping to win where everyone else has failed with the expected release of the Playdate Microconsole.
Unlike others before it, Panic is not setting Playdate up as a competition for traditional consoles or high-end gaming PCs since it doesn’t offer quite the same gaming experience. Instead, the bright yellow colored portable, crank-controlled Microconsole is poised to be something entirely different in the world of gaming.
Panic, the maker of Playdate isn’t a traditional gaming company. The company has carved a niche for itself making high-end Mac & iOS Software.
But now, the company is taking an entirely different direction with this latest offering.
Playdate is a tiny, Game Boy-like device that comes with a simple black & white screen, two face buttons & a directional pad. In addition to these buttons, there is also a crank attached to the device to serve as additional control similar to an analog stick that can be turned endlessly.
