A new report by AppAnnie.com has said audio messaging app Clubhouse had experienced “tremendous growth” over the past few months. It said Clubhouse, an invitation-only audio-chat social networking service, had 8.1 million by Feb 16, 2021, & had quickly garnered attention in the UK, Germany, Japan, Brazil and Turkey.
Appearances from well-known figures in February, such as Elon Musk & Mark Zuckerberg, had helped the app to now exceed 2.6 million downloads in the US alone.
The popularity of Clubhouse has led to a larger trend with competitive social audio apps popping up all over the world. Capitalizing on this growth, Facebook was reportedly beginning to build an audio chat product, aimed at rivaling Clubhouse. Quilt, an audio social app focusing on wellness & community, had just announced a $3.5 million seed round, said the blog post.
