Since last fall, Microsoft has been testing the redesigned version of Outlook for Windows & Web users. Finally, the new updates are here & users can now enjoy the simpler & powerful experience Microsoft promised with Outlook’s new design.

Windows users will also get improved customizations & simplicity with the new updates as well. Targeted Release users of Outlook who want to try out the new version can get in by simply clicking on the “try the new Outlook” button that can be found on the top right corner of their inbox. This toggle will give users access to the new updates & users can choose to opt out anytime they want to.

Here are some of the new features users will be getting on the new Outlook.

Simplified Search

Outlook’s new update focuses more on simplicity. The new Outlook simplifies the search by anticipating what you are looking for based on your recent & frequent conversations. Outlook also makes it easier for you to find files. The new files module shows you all the files you have received or sent making it easier to find anything. It is even a lot easier to find files from important people when you have ‘Favorites’ enabled. This helps you keep track of important things. You can add people, categories or specific folders to your favorites & access them with just a click.

Outlook’s new suggested replies option also helps you to respond to your emails faster than ever by making use of short suggested replies. This adds to the overall simplicity of user experience on the updated Outlook.

Events, Rooms & Groups

Outlook’s updated calendar makes it easier to add events. It also comes with updated icons that help to identify events faster. In addition, you will also get location suggestions & address details for your events. The update also helps you to find rooms for your meetings based. Outlook’s new smart feature suggests room based on your preferences, time, availability as well as the attendees.

Furthermore, the updates also add new features for using & managing groups in Outlook. You can now create groups faster, make use of richer group cards & get access to new features like group file activities as well as a better-organized group emails triage.

You will also be able to keep up with groups faster by using group cards which gives you access to membership information for the group from anywhere in Outlook & can also be used to check out group apps & resources on the go.

Simplified Add-ins

The new outlook gives you better control over your add-ins through a more simplified process of managing them. Now, you can make use of your favorite apps & services directly from your inbox. Furthermore, popular add-ins like Boomerang, GiPHY, translator, PayPal, etc can now be accessed & managed directly. Also, your installed add-ins will now appear on a drop-down menu in the new Outlook for easier accessibility.

You can also add more add-ins by selecting ‘Get Add-ins’ in the drop-down menu & organize the menu to show frequently used ones for easier accessibility.

Moreover, additional enhancements & updates have been added to the Windows version of Outlook which now features a ribbon that allows you to customize your Outlook experience to better suit your style & preferences.
