Learn personal traits of customers vis-a-vis your products using ‘Personas’ tool

The customer is the most crucial part of any business. As a result, businesses will strive to ensure their customers have the best experiences. This will lead to repeat business as well as marketing through word of mouth. However, it can be hard to understand each customer’s needs & likes. But now, there are apps out there that can help with that.

Personas is one such app. This tool is part of a bigger data collection platform by the name segment. With personas, a company can optimize each & every customer’s interaction to give the best results.

So what exactly does this tool do?

1st off it curates data on users from different sources. The most common sources are Websites, Cloud apps, servers & mobile apps. Using the collected data, Personas can then create a personal profile of each prospect. What this consists of is the name of the clients, where they live & their past interactions. Consequently, the next time a person interacts with the same company they can match up the profile to effectively deal with the situation.

Once a profile has been created, people can be segregated into various audiences using different metrics & traits. An example of an audience is “big spenders”, & this can be used as a basis for sending targeted messages. Once an audience has been defined Personas will be able to group incoming customers according to the traits they present automatically. The data collection process part of it is also automatic once the tool is up & running.

This data can then be shipped to various marketing tools such as Facebook ads, Extole, Hubspot or any other tools that integrate well with segment. Personas also has APIs that can be incorporated into various apps. Subsequently, a company can use in-app notifications as well as messages to target a particular consumer group.

Using personas, a company will be able to finetune their marketing campaign by removing people who made recent purchases. Also, they can tailor their content according to how customers receive it.

Segment consists of a team of about 200 employees in the roles of engineering, marketing, sales as well as a few others. Out of the 200, it is unclear as to who the executives in the firm are. Also unknown are the members of the team that made Personas. There are various subscription plans including a free one with limited capabilities. A company can choose one depending on their needs.
