The MagSafe Duo Charger released by Apple on Monday charges compatible iPhone, Apple Watch, wireless charging case for AirPods, & other Qi-certified devices.
So, if you own more than one Apple device, you can charge say, a watch & an iPhone simultaneously. When not in use the charger folds together giving it better portability. A 1m USB-C to Lightning Cable is included with the charger, but you’ll also need a 20W USB-C Power Adapter, which is sold separately.
The Duo Charger, however, is priced at what some call “a rather steep” US $129 & the attendant adapter will set you back a further $19. The charger is press-moulded & features a rubber-like hinge & is only available in white, which seems a strange color choice for something that will be used daily since it might be difficult to keep it clean.
When devices are charging on the MagSafe Duo they are held in place by magnets, which is fairly intuitive because if you tip the device on a table top, which could easily happen, your device will remain in place. Also, this magnetic adherence means that you can remove one device while the other will stay attached.
