Amazon launches AWS data exchange – News

AWS Data Exchange is a new service launched by Amazon that makes it easy for millions of AWS customers to “securely find, subscribe to, & use 3rd-party data in the Cloud.

Amazon said the qualified data providers include Reuters, Foursquare, TransUnion, Change Healthcare, Virtusa, Pitney Bowes, TP ICAP, Vortexa, IMDb, Epsilon, Enigma, TruFactor, ADP, Dun & Bradstreet, Compagnie Financière Tradition, Verisk, Crux Informatics, TSX Inc., Acxiom, Rearc, etc.

AWS customers can subscribe to a diverse selection of 3rd-party data in AWS Marketplace. Data products cover a wide range of industries including financial services, healthcare, life sciences, geospatial, consumer, media & entertainment, and more. Prior to subscribing to a data product, customers can review the price and terms of use that providers make publicly available. Once subscribed, customers can use the AWS Data Exchange API or console to load data they subscribe to directly into Amazon S3 to use across the broadest & deepest portfolio of Cloud services.

For qualified data providers, AWS Data Exchange makes it easy to reach the millions of AWS customers migrating to the Cloud by removing the need to build & maintain infrastructure for data storage, delivery, billing, & entitling. The Exchange provides qualified data providers with daily, weekly, & monthly reports detailing subscription activity, & handles associated billing, payment collection, & secure delivery of data to subscribers.
