AI video voice over software that offers text-to-speech for video production – e-Why, What & How

Producing a professional video with a perfect voice over takes a great deal of effort. If you’ve ever attempted to do a voice over yourself, you’ll know what I’m talking about!

Not only will you need software or an app to enable the recording & overlay, you’ll also need to produce a perfect, stutter free oral rendition of your message for the video to work. This is really hard to do, so many publishers resort to hiring a professional voice over artist to ensure an error free video that doesn’t look & sound like a bunch of amateurs have been messing around.

Unfortunately, hiring voice over artists isn’t cheap, so this option hasn’t been possible for many smaller enterprises at least until recent technological advances, which have made text to speech voice over video a reality.

We’re going to take a look at a few companies offering voice over software:

  1. Text2voiceover

This Web-based SaaS platform is primarily aimed at creating voice overs for YouTube videos, but the Online editor supports voice over creation from a URL, upload or simply typed in text. To use this service all you need to do is click on the “Create Voiceover” button on their homepage & select one of the options presented to get started.

Once you’ve done that you can preview the video & stop it at any point to type in text for the automated text-to-speech voice to read. The software calculates the text length so you can judge when to stop. After you’ve previewed the result you can click the “Generate” button & enter your email address to receive notification once Text2voiceover has completed the process. The service is free, but they do have premium options available for more complicated voice overs. No sign up required.

    2. Animaker Voice

Animaker offers a free text-to-speech video voice over service as part of their suite of video making tools. They promise that the results obtained when using their service, closely emulate human created voice overs, with inflection, emphasis at the correct junctures–they even offer a whispering and breathing only option for optimum “human” sound effects. They have multilingual voice options — voice overs for videos in 50+ voices & 25 different languages. You need to register for an account to use this service.

   3. Murf

For video voice overs Murf offers support for voice customization features like pitch, emphasis & speed of narration. The aim, they say, is to achieve narration that sounds human. The software is Web-based. You can add pauses in audio or even shorten the length of the voice over by changing the speed of the narration or cutting down on your script on the go. You need to sign up to use their Online studio, but they do offer a free service so you can try before you buy.

  4. Speechelo

This is Cloud-based software that offers an automated AI engine, to generate human-like voice overs in 23 different languages. They have 30 voice options, which include male, female, children, older folk & many more.

You can add breathing sounds or longer pauses after each phrase (or you can leave their A.I. engine to decide when to add breathing sounds or pauses). Speechelo boasts that their video voice over production can be generated via a simple 3 click process. They do not offer a free version, but they do have a one-off payment option, so you can purchase the software and use all its features with no subscription plan.
