Online advertisers, please note. Google has taken its next big step in the mobile market by introducing or rather expanding its suite of ads for mobile devices. Under this, no longer will simple links be offered in the ads, as has been the previous practise.
The new ads are aimed at people searching for cars, auto dealerships & mortgages, for now, according to Online news reports. Since they are aimed at mobile users, the ads are designed to work with touch or swipe. Google already has similar ads for products, hotels, flights & insurance.
Further, Google has acknowledged that searches on mobile devices now outnumbered those on personal computers in 10 countries, including the U.S. & Japan. That’s the reason why the search engine was tweaking the ways advertising was being displayed on computing devices. Readers may recall the recent Mobilegeddon change affected in April this year wherein mobile-friendly Sites were given preference in search on mobile devices.
Google top honchos have said it was forced to build the new tpe of mobile-friendly ads because no longer are users linked to their PCs solely. They now use a series of devices throughout their day -from the PC to Tablets to smartphones. Google had built the mobile-friendly ads that rely on data, such as images, product specs & prices, rather than keywords. So when users search for something now, Google shows a panel or carousel of listings from advertisers at the top of mobile search results. Users can then swipe across these to see more listings.
