How to add music to your video

YouTube

To add music to a video on YouTube via their Online editor, you need to be signed into your YouTube account & have the video uploaded to your library. Click on the video you want to enhance & open it in the editor. Next, click on the “music note” icon & view the music snippets available, you can click to play a sample before you choose a song. Once you’ve made your selection, click save & view a preview to ensure that you’ve chosen correctly.

Quik

Adding sound to video in the Quik editor is similar to most other editing apps. To add background sounds, open the editor & add images and/or video or a combination of the two, then select the “music note” icon — you will be presented with a number of music snippets to choose from. Once you’ve made your selection, you can adjust the duration of the snippet in your video, add silences or recorded voice-overs at various junctures on the editor’s timeline.

Another option available on most apps is to add a snippet you’ve procured from another resource, to do this you must add the sound to your library by importing the sound file into the app. A note of warning here: be sure that you’re not contravening any copyrights that exist because YouTube will reject your video if you do.

Whether you choose to add music via YouTube’s editor or a 3rd party app, most systems follow similar methodology so a little practice should see you producing professional looking videos you can be proud of.
