My Touchbar, my rules. Program that helps you make better use of your computer touch bar – #Startups

The touch bar is a recent feature added to MacBook Pros. You can find it in 4th gen MacBook Pros that have been released since October 2016.  The touch bar replaces the row of function keys that were previously available on older models. MacBook Pro users can also access the [f1-f12] function keys on the touch bar by holding down the function or “fn” key at the bottom left of their keyboards. The touch bar can be described as an OLED bar that is responsive to touch input. It will normally respond to active apps on the PC screen by giving a range of options & shortcuts that best control the app.

My TouchBar is a program that endeavors to give the user more control over these shortcuts.

Launched in 2018, the My TouchBar program is an open source code to be found on the Github platform. The software makes it possible to bring shortcuts that the user may require more often closer to him. Examples of such shortcuts may include weather, currency or even battery & power control.

Users who use the program will be able to customize the touch bar features by adding & removing plugins as they see fit. They will also be able to add shortcuts that they feel are more in tune with their individual needs.

3 software developers came together on the Github platform to create this program. The 1st is Anton Palgunov, a London resident who works as a front end developer for a company known as ‘Revolut’. The 2nd developer Daniel Apatin, is a resident of Saint-Petersburg, Russia. Daniel also runs a Russian tech blog which you can find here. There’s also a 3rd developer who happened to work on the project, going by the name of Serg. He works for a company known as ‘XIAG AG’ which is an Internet solutions company that specializes in software development. He is based in Novosibirsk, Russia.

The program is free to download and use.
