The fast-becoming-popular app Meerkat has come to Google Play, albeit unofficially. You can use this to watch streams from mrk.tv links on Twitter. Named after a creature found in Africa, the Meerkat app is a ‘live’ video streaming app that works through your Twitter account. The idea is to give Twitter users a 1 button push to stream video over Twitter. After you download the app, you can write down what you wanna say, & press the “Stream” button. When you do that, the feed syncs with your Twitter account & all your Twitter followers can see your ‘live’ video Content.
Here are the rules of Meerkat:
- Everything that happens on Meerkat happens on Twitter
- Streams will be pushed to followers in real time via push notifications
- People can only watch it ‘live’. No reruns
- Watchers can restream any stream to their followers in real time
- Scheduled streams will be distributed in the community by their subscribers
- Your own streams can be kept locally on your phone, but never on the cloud
- Everyone can watch on Web
