Don’t just curate that Content, ‘Lasso’ it – #Startups

content curationNeedless to say, the Internet is quite a valuable resource. Every day more & more people power through Web pages that could help them with a particular project. Unfortunately, it may prove quite a hassle to keep track of all these resources. Whether images, videos, articles or Web pages they can sometimes get buried all that tons of Content floating out there. Many a times, bookmarking also doesn’t help since people forget about them as soon as they leave a particular page.

Not only that, when people have to complete a project in a group it can be difficult to share various resources. A link sent via email may be useful but at the end of the day, it might get buried.

It would prove useful if one could save all these resources in one place. Lasso is a Web tool that helps bring together Web resources in a more actionable format. Once a person has found a resource he would like to keep, he can ‘Lasso’ it using the app’s browser extension to one of their themed collections.

The themed collections are custom with regards to a project. An example of a theme is “house designs” & one can easily lasso any information they find on the Web regarding house designs to this particular collection. If at all a person feels that there are other people who could benefit from that particular collection then they can share it.

The platform is not restricted to a professional setting. One can also share leisure resources with other like-minded individuals.

An extra feature is ‘Lasso for teams’ where people can have an integrated collection. If any member adds to the collection then it’s instantly visible to the rest of the team without necessarily having to share. With that said the platform is free for individuals & groups of up to five members. Bigger groups will have to cough up a subscription fee.

Lasso is operated under the umbrella of vFlyer Inc which is a San Francisco, US-based company. The current CEO of vFlyer Inc is Aaron Sperling. According to his Linkedin profile he also serves as the company’s CTO & product manager.

While vFlyer has certainly been around for more than a decade, they only just released Lasso in 2018.
