‘UI Check’ is free iOS utility app to help UI designers optimize their elements

UIcheckThis new phone app ‘UI Check’ allows you to get some very useful information about your User Interface (UI) design directly from screenshots that you save in your iPhone or iPad’s camera roll. By selecting a screenshot you can check the app to check on iOS UI guidelines & measure distances & colors.

Due to reduced device dimensions & strict guideline requirements, developers & specifically, UI designers most definitely need all the help they can get to align their ducks all in a row when it comes to putting together screen designs for their Apple device-based apps. A new & simple app is now available that purports to let designers double-check prototypes & make sure that their layouts are picture perfect by allowing designers to measure & double-check the colors & spacing for prototypes directly on the device.

The app’s main features include the ability to measure distances & angles so that the alignment of UI elements can be optimized. It can also measure the UI elements’ width, height, gutters & spacing. Another interesting & useful feature is that it can be used to get HEX color codes directly from screenshots on your camera roll, & finally it can be used to show screen halves, thirds or iOS defaults for screen placement.

The app has been developed by Swiss UI designer & consultant Keith One, who has been involved in a number of interesting branding products under Vaital Co. Ltd. & is currently based in Taiwan.
