Turn your Instagram account into a Website – Startups

Instagram feed on Website

Setting up a Website, even if it’s a simple project such as a profile Site, can be an expensive & time-consuming. You need to find a hosting service for your Website, next, you need a CMS or a developer to set it up, & once built, you need to update it, to keep your Content fresh.

James Grigor, a developer who works with the Instagram API, came up with the novel idea of transforming an Instagram feed into a Site. This notion of an Instagram feed on Website is perfect for portfolio Sites or for marketing campaigns for specific products. Grigor has called his platform ‘Zine’, which means small independent magazine.

Zine is super easy to set up, simply visit zine.press & login using your Instagram authorization. Follow the prompts to select a layout, color scheme & topography suitable for your Site. Add your Instagram feed, & your Website is ready to publish. An important aspect to note is that your Site will be updated every time you post to Instagram, thereby eliminating the necessity of managing Content.

In addition to basic publishing tools, Zine, offers free hosting for your Website, with a subdomain, such as yoursite@zine.press. If, however, you’d prefer to link the site to a domain that you own, Grigor has accommodated the option—at a cost.

Also, your Website does not come with an SSL certificate (the little lock in the browser bar, which means that the Site is secure), but these are usually available at a price, & should be easy to install if you request it. Your Site will be a SPA(Single Page Application) & offers images and titles from your feed, as well as a mailto link for email contact.
