A group of social scientists, citizen scientists, & designers have come together to gamify emotion recognition by artificial intelligence.
Called, “emojify.info”, the aim, said the developers, was to open up conversations about emotion recognition systems: from the science behind the technology to their social impacts – & everything else in between.
“Our aim is to promote public understanding of these technologies & citizen involvement in their development & use,” said the team on the Website.
What the team wants to do through this experiment is to gather information about people’s experiences of emotion recognition systems & their thoughts on their practical applications in order to further people-centered learning on the topic. So, it is a participatory knowledge-building exercise.
