The anouncement was made today at the Windows Hardware Engineering Community (WinHEC) summit by Terry Myerson, Executive Vice President of Windows, Microsoft Corp.
Microsoft’s new version of Windows 10 will support the next version of the fingerprint reader Fast Identification Online (FIDO). Which means, third parties can build in an extra layer of security into a PC or phone. FIDO can replace passwords completely. Moving beyond the password is where Microsoft’s Windows is headed.
