Amazon has launched Custom Interfaces to help developers & device manufacturers to connect gadgets with Echo smart speakers.
Alexa adds new features, including how-to videos from wikiHow, updated smart home controls, customizable morning & evening routines, & more.
Amazon has added 4 more ‘slots’ for 3rd party developers of Alexa skills.
After developers build & publish their music skill, users can stream to any Amazon Echo, Alexa enabled devices, or to several Echo devices using multi-room music.
Device makers building with the Alexa Voice Service can now create fully integrate solutions, so their products can be registered with Alexa for Business & managed as shared devices in organizations.
In a market inundated with smart speakers, Amazon Echo accounts for 23% share of smart speakers in use, while Google stands at 17% & Apple scores 4% in a consumer poll by Strategy Analytics.
