New startup claims to make Website editing a breeze – #Startup

Designing & developing Websites have got easier over the years. Now, new startup Selector claims to make editing a Site even more easier (if that’s possible). If you have watched the above video, you would have realized that new startup Selector provides in-context editing. So, while you do the designing of your or your client’s Website, you may leave the actual editing part to Selector. For the latter, you do not need to even know HTML or any coding. It’s just like 1 of those template-based, WYSIWYG Website design platforms where you drag & drop, & finalize what you like best. But everything in 1 window itself, no need to go to & forth between the editing window & your actual Website.

Before you begin, all you need to do is to connect this new startup to your Site’s FTP, & your HTML files become editable. Without breaking your Site’s design, Selector automatically figures out how to make your Website editable. There’s nothing to download or install. All you need to do is create an account & log in. Just 1 thing – Selector does not support PHP for now.

Selector works from just standard HTML, & HTML5 is its API.

Selector handles the editing so you can concentrate on creating Sites instead of making them work with a CMS. What is an added advantage is that clients cannot break their Website’s style or layout, since Selector locks it in.

Security-wise, the Selector’s developer Hans Livingstone, a Computer Science guy, assures that all user information is stored using industry standard encryption (Bcrypt & AES-128 to be precise).

So, if you wanna try out this new startup, sign up for the beta, & you shall be sent an invite, after which you can get going.
