Sort out your Slack team task management with ‘Sortd for Slack’

The Slack messaging environment is great for group messaging & team building but is lacking sorely in tools for managing workflows & assigning tasks to team members. ‘Sortd’ has come along to help rectify this situation by providing Slack users an integrated way to manage team priorities, assign tasks & post notifications for status updates.

There are already bots available for Slack that will help you manage projects, but it can be a clunky way to accomplish this. Alternatively, using apps like Trello force you to step outside your Slack environment to get things done. In fact, the makers of Sortd tout their app as “a Trello for Slack.”

Sortd provides a lot of interesting functionality, all integrated into your team’s slack environment, like the ability to share tasks lists & to work on focused project plans with teammates.

Other features are:

Sortd had previously released a Sortd for Gmail app which gained wide acceptance, & has just introduced the Slack integration to cover the needs of users of yet another popular messaging platform. The startup is based in South Africa & was founded by Wayne Silbermann & Rodney Kuhn.

Pricing for the product is free for the “Personal” package, which is limited to 4 lists & a max of 25 active tasks/lists. The “Pro” package costs US $5/month & includes unlimited numbers of lists, tasks, boards & reminders, as well as date view & advanced filters. Finally, you can get the “Team” package for US $5/month per user that provides full team features, like unlimited shared team boards, full team collaboration, unlimited shared tasks.
