This next 1 can prove to be exciting if Instagram is your thing. ‘Ramme’ is a cross-platform Instagram desktop app that lets you use Instagram on your PC, irrespective of your operating system.
Ramme v2.0 has got various shortcuts as well as a ‘Dark Mode’ for display & navigation purposes. Ramme is built with Electron, which is simply a framework used to create native apps with Web technologies such as HTML, JavaScript & CSS among others. It mainly focuses on the more sophisticated parts leaving you with the much simpler tasks. With this Electron Web wrapper, it’s responsive & can easily be updated to accommodate future changes to the Web interface.
Apps are designed sometimes to run in the background even after closing windows. Therefore, Ramme continues to run in the background if you are using windows & in the doc if you installed the app on Mac. If you are using Linux it will run in the tray. If you intend to completely stop the app from running then you will have to right click on the icon of the location where it is running in the background & the select to completely stop the application.
How to install Ramme
Installing Ramme on Windows seems easier compared to installing on other operating systems. This is because it only entails downloading the file & then using the appropriate zip file opener. You can then unzip it & move it to a selected directory. However, for Mac OS, you will have to use Homebrew Cask. This helps to make it easier & faster to install apps on a PC using Mac OS.
What features of operating systems will support this app? The application is designed to support the following OS; Windows 7 or later, Mac 10.9 & Linux. A lot of unofficial apps have been taken down by Instagram when they tried to add an option to upload pictures. Therefore, the developer has decided not to include this feature in Ramme. This app was released in Aug 2016 with its source code published on GitHub where you can download it.
