Microsoft’s working on location app for Windows Phone

So what’s this we hear. IT major Microsoft is reportedly developing a location-sharing app named People Sense. The development was accidentally posted by Spanish language Website Microsoft Place some days ago.
Reports: Tech Times, Techworm, SlashGear, Recombu, Digit

The new app, currently under development under the codename, ‘Buddy Aware’, will give users access to their friends’ locations. At the same time, it will also integrate messaging & calling. If all this happens, this could be the 1st ever such location sharing app by Microsoft.
People Sense, say reports, will also leverage on Microsoft’s Bing Maps, giving users directions to their friends’ current locations. Useful for someone who is lost.
A video posted by Microsoft Place reveals an early look at the new app. It is evident from the video that People Sense may retain the fun style of the Windows Phone. It shows People Sense map that reveals the locations of all the user’s friends. When the user searches for a specific friend, the app reveals the location of the person, when the friend was last seen, along with the person’s current status.
There are many 3rd party apps out there that do find out the location of a friends. An example would be Facebook Messenger. But like we said, People Sense will be the 1st app for the Windows Phone system.
