Many startups are using the Slack team communication environment for real time messaging, archiving & searching. While most Slack team members are actually human, bot users are starting to become common & have similar characteristics as their human counterparts, such as names & bios, & they can post messages & files. Starting from the knowledge gathered for this site, MentorBot was developed to provide instant context-aware advice for Slack teams.
It gives teams advice that can be put to good use, regarding growth hacking, product management, investor issues, company culture, & a bunch more issues that are crucial to a new company’s success, right from within Slack. The bot can post relevant advice to specific channels & also provide timely links to advice sources, so you can look up detailed information regarding a wide range of topics at your leisure.
MentorBot is part of a wider, more ambitious effort by the successful Russian gaming company Zeptolab, to develop a MentorBot app, which is currently in Beta. Zeptolab is a well-regarded company mainly dedicated to gaming on iOS & Android platforms. It is best known for ‘Cut the Rope’, which has been downloaded more than 750 million times, & has produced comics & animated series based on their games franchise.
