App ‘Lingviny’ uses human translators to send Gmail messages in foreign language

Although automated translators like Google translate have made great strides of late, you’d be foolish to leave important business or personal missives in the hands of Machine Learning, risking the wrong translation of an important detail.

Lingviny gives you the precision of human-based translation with complete app integration into Gmail along with fast turn-around times, all derived from crowd sourcing to pro-level translators.

Normally automatic translators are free to use, are even lightning fast, but the results more often than not lack precision. So while new app Lingviny comes with a price tag, it has taken note from its automated counterparts by being integrated into Gmail via a Chrome extension. While the translations aren’t immediate, as after all, humans do have to screen them, & they take as much as 30 minutes to be handled, they are much faster than what you’d expect from a professional translation service.

The integration into Gmail is seamless, so once you install the extension you get a 1-button functionality. A ‘Lingviny’ button appears next to the ‘Translate’ button in your Gmail compose window. You then just type your email as usual & press the Lingviny button to choose a language that you want to translate your message to. The message is then sent over to Lingviny’s crowd-sourced network of professional human translators that are available 24X7.

Once the translation is done, the message gets delivered directly to your recipients. They’ll see a professionally translated version of your email message that looks as if it was actually sent from your email address.

Receiving email in one’s own language, especially if it’s professionally done, is a priceless gesture that business partners, customers or just friends will greatly appreciate & could lead to further engagement, loyalty & of course, more business for you.

Lingviny is a Russia-based startup that has developed its NDA-bound service for more than 40 languages & growing, & is developing extensions for other browsers besides Chrome, with Safari coming soon.

You can try it out for free for 2 emails & 150 words, & after that pricing starts at US $0.06/word for the ‘Pro’ plan, with an ‘Expert’ version in the works which will be priced at US $ 0.09/word, & will  use experts in specialized topics.
