Ticking timebomb, we say. Last Friday, some suspicious characters were seen loitering around the defences of freemium password management system LastPass. The latter said this on its official blog: In our investigation, we have found no evidence that encrypted user vault data was taken, nor that LastPass user accounts were accessed. The investigation has shown, however, that LastPass account email addresses, password reminders, server per user salts, and authentication hashes were compromised.
LastPass has now asked members to change their passwords, just in case, & also implement the two-factor authentication. Because encrypted user data was not taken, LastPass said users need not change passwords on Sites stored in their LastPass vault.
