Instagram offers new ways for creators to make money – News



Facebook’s Instagram has announced more ways for creators to earn money through Instagram Live & IGTV.

Announcing this on its official blog, Instagram said it had observed that creators embraced “Live” in new ways, leading to a 70% increase in views from February to March.

From fitness instructors to dancers, artists to chefs, Live had helped creators & businesses “stay connected to their followers”. With badges, creators can generate income from the Content they’re already creating.

Now, going forward, the new feature “Badges” will appear next to a person’s name throughout the live video. Fans who have purchased badges in Live will stand out in the comments & unlock additional features, including placement on a creator’s list of badge holders & “access to a special heart.”

Badges will begin testing next month with a small group of creators & businesses. Over the coming months it will expand across the US, Brazil, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Turkey, Spain, & Mexico, said Instagram.

IGTV Ads

Starting next week, Instagram will introduce ads in IGTV. Under this, advertising revenue will be shared with the creators.

IGTV ads will initially appear when people click to watch IGTV videos from previews in their feed. The video ads will be built for mobile & up to 15 seconds long.
