A report in Business Insider said the Facebook owned Instagram had issued a “cease & desist” notice to a San Francisco based startup called, ‘ HYP3R’ after finding it was allegedly scraping data off the app.
A spokesman said HYP3R’s actions were not sanctioned & were in violation of Instagram policies. As a result, it was removed from Instagram.
As the report pointed out, clearly Facebook was still struggling with controlling its data, years after the Cambridge Analytica scandal broke.
