Facebook has introduced Messenger Rooms in order to allow friends & colleagues to talk to each other.
Users can now create a room right from Messenger or Facebook, & invite anyone to join your video call, even if they don’t have a Facebook account. Rooms will soon hold up to 50 people with no time limit, announced FB.
What’s more, FB said, users don’t need to call someone & hope it’s a good time or check everyone’s calendar 1st. Users can start & share rooms on Facebook through News Feed, Groups & Events, so it’s easy for people to drop by. FB added it would soon add ways to create rooms from Instagram Direct, WhatsApp & Portal, too.
When you’re invited to a room, you can join from your phone or computer — no need to download anything to get started. If you have the Messenger app, you can play with AR effects like bunny ears, & new AI-powered features like immersive 360 backgrounds, including mood lighting.
When users create a room, they can choose who can see & join it. People can be removed from the call, & a room can even be locked to prevent entry. Read more about the controls users have.
