Happeo brings social media tools to liven up tired internal intranet systems – Startups

Happeo, a communication collaboration tool, was born out of a former G Suite Cloud provision tool called Gapp. The company’s vision was to supply an intranet platform for business that would be far more attractive to employees than any competitor’s systems.

To this end the makers of happeo have structured their platform to simulate a social media environment, which users are accustomed to, & prefer over the old fashioned intranet formerly adopted by corporates.

Consumers seem to be in favour of happeo’s innovation & their year-on-year growth is a testament to this popularity – a YoY growth of 280%. Client approval might be one of the factors that have contributed to the company raising $12 million in a recent fundraising round, which was led by Inkef Capital & includes other backers such as DN Capital, Maki.vc, & Vendep Capital.

Despite the company’s high conversion rate, their position in this crowded space is a tough one. Happeo’s main competitor Workvivo, recently raised $16 million & heavyweights, such as Google & Microsoft are constantly developing new tools for this space. However, happeo’s founders Perttu Ojansuu, Vesa Sironen & Antero Hanhirova believe that their enterprise-ready social collaboration tools are exactly what employees are after, & it’s these tools that set the company apart.

Growth has seen the number of internal  emails sent by happeo’s clients rise from 500,000 to 2.5 million during the first quarter of 2020, so they must be doing something right. Their social-media-like interface integrates with Google Drive, G Suite & Slack. Happeo believes that their tools will go a long way to improving overall internal communication & building an employee loyalty factor, unobtainable while using other tools.
