The Google Play Store was used to trick over one million Android users into downloading malicious apps.
According to a report by the UK-based express.co.uk, researchers at Malwarebytes discovered a dangerous piece of software that was loaded with malware that directed unsuspecting users to phishing websites intended to steal sensitive information. As a result, the 4 apps have been removed from the Google Play Store – but if you downloaded them before they were delisted, you will need to remove them from your Android device immediately, said Google.
