‘Forgiva’ – a password manager for new age

forgiva‘Forgiva’ is a “Stateless” password manager that keeps all of your passwords in 1 place for you. If you need to login to your Facebook account, for example, but have forgotten your password, you can use Forgiva to prompt you.

This application is not only for forgotten passwords, but if you are interested in using very complex passwords that are nearly impossible to remember, then this will keep them safe, too. A password manager is an application that stores & organizes all of the passwords that you want to store inside. These passwords are encrypted to make them inaccessible to anyone but you. Most password managers require the use of a Master Key (password) that unlocks all your passwords.

There are different categories of password managers & many ways of securing your passwords form bad people who want them so they can steal or spy on your accounts.

Some categories of password managers are:
• Web-based – Online service that stores your passwords for you. If you have Internet access, you have your passwords
• Cloud-based – same idea as Web-based, but you use a client program on your computer to access your credentials
• Desktop – your passwords are stored on your computer via software that provides a front-end & organizes them for you
• Stateless – your passwords are never saved to your hard drive. They are generated on-the-fly by using a master key & a tag that can generate all of your passwords while you need them

Forgiva fits into the ‘Stateless’ category. This means that you don’t have to worry about your computer being stolen & your passwords going with it, since they are generated after you, not only put in a master password, but also complete a Visual Pattern Confirmation (like a Captcha that only you know the answer to).

‘Sceptive’ is a global cybersecurity firm based out of Istanbul, Turkey. It’s paid to hack their clients (usually companies) to expose & fix security flaws. Such companies analyze your company’s traffic, the software you use, & any 3rd party computers/services that communicate with your devices. With all this information, they try to find & exploit as many security flaws as they can. If they find any, they eventually use patches to “plug” the security holes.

IT expert Harun Esur is the founder of Sceptive. With over 15 years of experience, Esur has worked in Cloud Computing, Linux, COBOL, C++, Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, JavaScript, Ruby, & Scala just to name a few. He founded Sceptive in March of 2013, but before that he worked for Arneca Technologies as an Enterprise Consultant.
