Fireflies, a smart AI note taking assistant – Startups

AI note taking app

Innovative developers Sam Udotong & Krish Ramineni have brought an artificial intelligence (AI) note taking application to the market. Using this app, you can instantly record meetings across any web-conferencing platform.

Whats New On The Net spoke to Krish by email about their new product Fireflies. Fireflies offers users the opportunity to manage & store their conversations by allowing them to record, transcribe & search across their voice conversations.

Here are the excerpts from the interview:

Q) What prompted you to develop this product?

Krish) Remote work is taking off like wildfire. Especially with everyone switching to video conferencing & working from home due to Covid 19. Meetings are where we spend half our time & they can be chaotic. From our experiences at MIT & Microsoft we wanted to build an intelligent voice assistant that could help people stay on top of their meetings better by:

  • Have perfect recall of their conversations
  • Automate data entry
  • Use Fireflies to complete work in other applications

Q) Is it designed to work exclusively with Zoom?

Krish) Fireflies works with more than a dozen different Web-conferencing platforms. See fireflies.ai/integrations. We are rolling out more platform integrations in the coming weeks. We’re doing some special integrations with Zoom to make the experience more seamless for end users. We also integrate with many business apps like Salesforce, Slack, Outlook,Office 365 etc.

Q) What pain points do you see it solving ?

Krish) Help people get work done while in their meetings. We want to turn talk into action. Get users automated notes, transcripts, & summaries.  Auto-complete data entry in systems where they have to enter data after meetings like Salesforce, Slack, Hubspot, etc.

Q) Who are the founders, what is their background?

Krish) Ramineni: One of the youngest PMs at Microsoft, Patents in workflow automation.

Sam Udotong: Deep Learning work at MIT AI Guest Lecturer at Stanford.
