“Finisher” lends visual interface to production planning on Slack – Startups

George Hannes, founder of Finisher, developed the tool for Slack because of the personal frustration he experienced while being in the planning phase of production. The organization he was working for would use a whiteboard to set out tasks for each department, which he found inequitable. The idea of creating a digital app with visual, actionable labels to define the workflow involved in bringing a product to market resulted in Finisher.

Finisher is for every production team in the world of enterprise that needs a visual tool which defines workflow & sets out clear steps that can be set to either “in progress”, or “completed”. The app gives teams the option to add labels such as “design” or “engineering”, & lists the names of the people responsible for each section of the work. Finisher functions much like the whiteboard it is based on, but users can interact with the “board” via the tool’s drop & drag interface to move visual labels around & denote, by connected “arrows”, exactly how the production should progress.

Basically, Finisher streamlines workflow & offers team members a birds-eye-view of the production process. Each team member can “see” the roles they’ve been assigned. Each “board” can be saved on the app’s dashboard & used at a later stage, which is useful in many industries where recurring processes are common.

Industries that can benefit from Finisher’s solution include manufacturing, software development, HR(Human Resources) & marketing.

George assures potential users that his app will reduce idle time & limit the opportunity for human error among team members. The tool is aimed at bringing order to chaos & maintaining a record of process for posterity so that managers can gain an overview of who did what for any tasks under their wing.
