Ex Facebook Messenger boss & Paypal executive David Marcus has set up his next company Lightspark, which will be building on Bitcoin’s Lightning network. Marcus will serve as CEO with a number of ex-Meta crypto team members serving in executive positions.
Investors in this startup include Paradigm & a16z. In a statement, a16z said it had decided to invest because Lightspark as it “was a new effort with a stellar team working on exploring, building on and extending the capabilities of Bitcoin.”
