Rush for buying virtual land disrupts Ethereum Blockchain – Web3

Bloomberg reported Sunday (May 1) that Yuga Labs, which produces the non-fungible tokens (NFTs) in the Bored Apes Yacht Club collection, was selling virtual land for its metaverse project Otherside.

With the largest crypto offering of its kind, the company raised around $320 million. It was so overwhelming that activity for the event was centered around the Ethereum blockchain, so much so that it caused disruptions & spiked transaction fees, the report said.
