Color your inspiration, celebrate it with a doodle

Here’s calling all young Piccasos & Kahlos of the world! Google has announced its 9th annual Doodle 4 Google contest for India. And the theme is, well, “What inspires you?”

Since time immemorial, artists have been sourcing their inspiration by looking at the world around. And Google wants you to not only channel your budding inner artist, but also give honorable mention to your fountainhead of inspiration. Moreover, this artwork should also have your own interpretation of the Google logo.

The first edition of Doodle 4 Google India was announced in 2009 & theme for the contest was ‘My India’.

In the US, the winner for the 10th annual Doodle 4 Google contest was announced in June 2018. Sarah Gomez-Lane, a 7-year-old, won hearts with her “Dino Doodle“. The winner from from Virginia (K-3 grade group) also saw her creation being featured on the homepage.

In India, this year too, the winning doodle will be showcased on www.google.co.in. The contest is open for entries until Oct 6, 2018 10:00 pm Indian Standard Time (IST). The details regarding the entries, judges & rules are available on their Doodle 4 Google page. Moreover, the page features previous doodle entries as examples & also a Teacher’s Guide section to help teachers capture brilliant flashes of creativity & also integrate Doodle 4 Google into the classroom.

Who can participate?
The Doodle 4 Google contest is open for students from class 1 to 10 (India).

The theme
Budding artists will have to create an enlightening doodle that proclaims to the world “What inspires me?”

Art supplies
Whatever makes your art come to life; be it crayons, clay or even graphic design.

Must-have: A Google in the doodle
The doodle must be along the lines of all previous doodles; that is it must contain the letters G-o-o-g-l-e.

The winner takes it all

  • 1 national winner will receive INR 500,000 college scholarship
  • INR 200,000 technology package for their school
  • The winning doodle will be showcased on www.google.co.in on 14th November 2018.
