Click an image & use this mobile app to search all information linked to it

When it was launched, we had talked about the potential of this app.

How would it be if we were to tell you that there’s an app that can give you details of objects, restaurants, clothes, food, almost every thing. CamFind does that. All you need to do is click an image of the object whose information you want with your smartphone, launch the app & within minutes, you will have the details about it. It’s like a visual search & more, on your mobile computing device.

So if you see a stranger sporting a purse you take a fancy to, or someone driving a BMW, just launch CamFind, click, & within minutes you will have details associated with the object such as name, model number, where available, price & so on. If you have realized it by now, there’s no need to even key in any words like we do in regular search. Using image recognition, the CamFind app zeroes in on the details of your object of desire.

Here are some more details on how it works:

To make it work, you need to turn on CamFind. Once the app loads, click on the blue “Take Picture” button. After that, to upload the images, go to home screen, click on the “History” button, located to the left of the “Take Picture” button. Then click the “Add Item” (+) button in the top right corner and select “Image from Photo Library.” To access search by text, in the home screen, click on the “History” button, located to the left of the “Take Picture” button. Then click the “Add Item” (+) button in the top right corner and select “Search by Text.”

You can even share the images you clicked. After having the photograph identified, click the action button in the top right corner. It will prompt a window with options to share your tagged photograph via email, message, or social media.

Users can even seach using their voice. For that, in the home screen, click on the “Options” button. Then click on the “Microphone” button. A message will pop up saying that the voice search is now recording & will continue until CamFind detects silence. Once the recording is transcribed it will take you directly to the search results. If you want to turn off the voice so that CamFind does not read out the search results out loud, in the home screen, click on the “Options” button, then click on the “Voice” button, located at the top of pop up menu. Clicking on this button again will turn the voice back on.

CamFind also other language options besides English for search.

The app also includes a QR & barcode reader along with traditional text search functions & voice search capabilities if you don’t want to take a picture. It also offers VoiceOver of identified objects so you know how things are pronounced, as well as an automatic flash and zoom.

The search not only gives you Internet search results, it also throws up images that are similar or related to yours, as well as local price comparisons & Online shopping Websites.

The CamFind app, available for iOS & Android, has been developed by Los Angeles based Image Searcher, Inc, & is free to download.
