Media reports say Amazon will shut down all its Dash buttons worldwide on Aug. 31.
This decision follows Amazon’s move in February to stop selling new buttons. The reports quoted an Amazon spokeswoman as saying the Dash button usage “has significantly slowed” since then, which eventually made Amazon pull the plug.
At launch in 2015, the Dash button was hailed as the ultimate single-use device. It allows you to buy an item on Amazon with 1 click, such as detergents & razor blades.
Many brands saw the Dash buttons as an opportunity for better marketing, & getting into people’s homes. All that will be done by August 31, 2019.
