Building customer apps for your business is now easy, thanks to “Softr” – Startups

Thousands of businesses & individuals use Airtables to organize their data. Now Softr, a no-code app building tool, promises to turn these data tables into mobile-ready apps in a few clicks.

This German SAAS platform, founded by Mariam Hakobyan, began offering users the facility to create web apps from Airtables in 2021. It has attracted over 50,000 clients to use what the team refers to as the LEGO-like development tools. These tools do much more than create simple, static Sites. Softr-created Websites are dynamic – logic based applications suitable for creating marketing platforms, e-commerce stores, community portals & permission-reliant apps.

Recently, Softr added tools to convert applications based on Airtables into PWAs (Progressive Web Apps), which faithfully imitate the functionality of mobile apps. The beauty of PWAs is that there’s no need to submit apps to any of the App Stores, such as Apple’s or Google’s since PWAs are mobile apps that businesses or individuals can offer directly to clients. App users enjoy all the benefits of a mobile app without any of the limitations imposed by the App Stores, such as adding the app to a home screen & enabling push notifications. (Softr has not integrated push notification functionality yet, but it’s in the works for the near future)

The app building process using Softr is conveniently simple for even the most tech-challenged individual. The tool connects to Airtables via an API so users need to supply their API key. Once connected, the tool offers users a selection of templates & common app build blocks, such as client payment checkout systems, login facilities & so forth. Each option is easy to integrate & Softr promises that an app can be built in as little as 30 seconds.

Softr offers a free plan for non-business users & has various pricing plans available based on size & functionality requirements.
