‘BookMarkable’ allows you to bookmark stuff that normally can’t be bookmarked – New app

bookmarking sitesWith this Apple Mac app you can create links to docs, files & folders or to other items that you normally can’t bookmark, like email or database entries, using an app-specific plugin. It also makes it easy to embed links in other docs or apps.

It’s pretty easy to link to a Website, or even to a file, but it’s a lot more challenging, if not impossible to link to an email. With ‘BookMarkable’ you can pretty much bookmark anything you want. It not only bookmarks items, it also includes a preview or screenshot as well as info about which app should open the link.

There are a number of options available for referencing links from other apps, like simple Web-style links for apps that work with text only, & if you want you can have rich text & HTML-based links with embedded previews & comment fields. It basically works with any app that supports embedded links or files.

Perhaps the most interesting feature of BookMarkable is its ability to work with Evernote, which turns it into a great project management tool. From within an Evernote note you can reference project files, relevant email, or anything that is bookmark-able. This means that since a bookmark is just a link & not an actual file, you need not worry about keeping the original in sync or blowing up your note’s size.

BookMarkable is an interesting alternative to your browser’s bookmarks feature & will work on any browser you use. You can even tie a link to a specific browser or app.

BookMarkable is a paid app & has been developed by OnFlApp. To install it you need Mac OS X 10.9 or later & a 64-bit processor.
