Bartersugar – a barter platform for startups

The Internet’s 1 big marketplace, right? …& like players have discovered, making money Online is soooooo difficult, because of which startups face a tremendous problem.

You may have a great idea but its execution is what’s important. For starting up, you need money to hire manpower & for bringing in other resources such as designers or developers, but without those, your startup can’t start earning revenue. So what does one do? It’s like a chicken & egg situation.

Of course, you can try your best to get some seed funding or list your startup on a crowdfunding platform, but not all succeed. As a startup, you would love to have some free access to resources including talent. That’s what bartersugar is all about.

As the name suggests, this platform is for bartering your services as a startup in return for other services from other startups. Simple. Eg: If you have a virus removal service you wanna share with another startup, get in touch with it, & offer it. In exchange, you can ask for a certain service that startup has to offer such as free images.

To get on to bartersugar you need to create an account (for free) & are then asked to add your social media details to lend yourself more credibility within the community. Users maythen upload details of items or services they want to offer – anything from images, books, games, anti-virus removal to things like tutoring.

This startup has a strict code of conduct for members, & strictly forbids the exchange of money or offering of services in return of money. Barter & trade are the magic words that are its foundation. Of course, misuse by offering prohibited services can also get you banned.

Bartersugar is a startup from Memphis, US, co-founded last year by Layla Tabatabaie, who is also the CEO.
