‘Whiz’ is a mobile app that provides answers in real time – New app

With this peer-to-peer app you can get answers to practically any questions you may have. You can switch between the roles of getting questions answered & being a provider by clicking a button, & you’ll get reimbursed for sharing your expertise.

The areas available for obtaining answers in Whiz are carefully chosen & consist of 14 curated categories, with almost 300 additional topics also available:

  • Translation

  • Beauty & Fashion

  • Pets

  • Auto

  • Garden

  • Electronics

  • Apps & Software

  • Copywriting

  • Home Repairs

  • Food & Beverage

  • Tutoring

  • Health & Fitness

  • Life & Wellness

  • Travel

If you’re interested in having your questions answered, or in other words, your role is that of a customer, then you start by picking a category or topic. Next, you pose a question & choose from a list of possible providers. An interactive video session then opens up, where you talk to your expert provider until you get answers to your questions &/or decide to end it.

When you’re a provider, you start by picking all the categories where you feel you’re qualified as an “expert”. You’ll then make yourself available to start video sessions with any customer who clicks on you & that you think you know the answer to the question they’re posing.

Finally, you connect & you’ll get paid for the time you spend in the session at the rate of US $0.99 per 5 minutes, with an option for providing the 1st 5 minutes for free. The customer can cancel the session at any time, & if the session gets canceled before getting to 5 minutes, he can opt out of paying the US $0.99. If the session continues (after a prompt), the customer will keep getting charged at a US $1 per minute rate.

A couple of perks are offered by Whiz in the form of a US $5 credit for new users that they can use towards sessions. If you use the app to invite a friend to join you get 1 more US$.

The role in the app can be that of customer only, or customer & provider. To qualify as a provider, you’ll need to give the app some additional info about the particular categories.

Ratings are also an important part of the process, & both customers & providers will be asked to give each other ratings on a 5-star scale.

PredictAny, LLC is the Florida, USA-backed startup which is the company behind Whiz.

The app is available for free for both iOS & Android.
