Turn your email into To-Do lists & organize your life with ‘Moo.do’

email client

Moo.do is actually a full-featured email client app for your smartphone that can do much more. It’s an organization system that helps you manage your emails by putting an advanced task manager at your disposal. It brings together your Gmail account, Google Contacts & Mailbird, letting you drag emails to make them into actionable items.

It’s easy to forget about emails after you read them, & chances are you will never look at them again, even if you know there’s an important task involved, or that you need to respond sometime in the future, simply because the sheer volume of messages you receive & send can be overwhelming. Moo.do makes it easy to add priorities to email messages so that you can, at a glance, differentiate between the important stuff & the junk.

You can right click on an email & assign priorities & color code your message, or by using the multi-pane view you can easily drag-and-drop your emails into the Outline & Agenda panes, where your tasks are located. All of this while maintaining your Gmail labels & ability to see your full message texts by double-clicking. This facilitates the creation of a daily To-Do list starting from your inbox.

Moo.do was founded by Seattle, Washington, USA-based developers Jay Meistrich & Grant Watters, both ex-Microsoft employees, & according to their project site the app’s goal is to

help people organize everything in one place so that they can stay in their flow and avoid unnecessary task switching and searching for what to do next. We created Moo.do because we were frustrated with the difficulty of using multiple unconnected services. We had to-do lists completely unrelated to our calendars… We believe that software can be both easy to use and powerful, so Moo.do is designed to focus on content and be easier to use than a piece of paper.

The app comes in a free version with no ads & basic functionality. A premium version is available for US $7/month or $69/year, which expands offline sync from 2 to 30 days, adds managing & syncing with Google Calendar, has advanced display settings & comes with premium support & early access to new features.

You can get Moo.do at the Apple Store here, if you want the iOS version. The Android version can be gotten here, at the Google Play Store, & there’s also a web app plugin available at the Chrome Web Store here.
