YouTube into gaming? That’s true. This is being touted as a “momentous” business decision taken by Google, owner of YouTube. Starting a few months down the year (US summer), YouTube Gaming, a new app & Website to keep you connected to the games, players, & other paraphernalia of the gaming world, will be launched.
According to an announcement on the official YouTube blog, the new product will have videos, live streams, & the biggest community of gamers on the Web — all in one place.
The post said: YouTube Gaming is built to be all about your favorite games and gamers, with more videos than anywhere else. From “Asteroids” to “Zelda,” more than 25,000 games will each have their own page, a single place for all the best videos & ‘live’ streams about that title. You’ll also find channels from a wide array of game publishers & YouTube creators.
YouTube Gaming will be available in the U S & U K, to begin with.
Online analysts, though, said YouTube Gaming was been brought in to take on Amazon’s Twitch.
