This translates into having the ability to quickly reschedule batches of overdue tasks en masse & being able to get unscheduled tasks assigned to the best due dates. Smart Schedule makes it easier to manage your to-do list especially when things don’t go as planned, as often happens in real-world situations.
For finding ideal due dates the system takes the following into account:
- Your personal habits
- Urgency of any given task
- Workdays vs. weekends schedules are taken into account
- Task load balancing based on free time & number & duration of tasks
- Set your own daily & weekly goals for getting tasks completed
- Option for accepting, editing or rejecting Smart Schedule’s suggestions
Since Smart Schedule is AI-powered, it learns your habits over time, so its predictive ability will become more & more accurate over time, the more you use Todoist. You can access the Smart Schedule feature from the Todoist App in 3 different ways:
- From the ‘Today’ or 7 day view, by selecting Reschedule Overview, new due dates will be suggested for all overdue tasks
- By opening the scheduling calendar on the Web app or by swapping on your mobile app to reschedule a task, you’ll get smart scheduling options with a recommended due date
- Or by selecting multiple tasks you’ll have the option to reschedule them all with recommended dates
