Is the end nearing for Facebook Likes? Seems so. TechCrunch reports that from today, FB Australia is doing an experiment.
It will start hiding FB Likes count on all posts. TechCrunch has quoted a FB spokesperson as saying it was running “a limited test” where Like, reaction, & video view counts will be made private across Facebook.
FB will then gather the feedback to understand whether this change will improve people’s experiences. If the test proves that users’ “sense of well-being” without tanking user engagement does improve, FB will then expand the same to more countries or even roll out to everyone.
So there you are. Let’s see how the Aussie experiment goes.
