‘Sketch Viewer’ simplifies Web viewing & sharing of .sketch files

sketchviewer

‘Sketch Viewer’ is a tool that helps make viewing & sharing of existing .sketch files easy on the Web. For those uninitiated, sketch files are vector graphics files created by Sketch which saves drawn objects using multiple layers.

The .sketch files can be exported to .pdf, .svg, .jpg, .tif, .png among other formats. Sketch Viewer will allow you to log in using your Google or Facebook account. You can then upload & share the sketch files.

Some of the features that will entice you with Sketch Viewer

i) A Canvas View – Sketch Viewer will allow you to pan & zoom to find your artboards laid out precisely. In addition, your artboards will be the same way you left them in Sketch.

ii) A Version History- This feature enables you to use Sketch Viewer’s powerful versioning. It allows you to view 7 compare the past versions of your .sketch files.

iii) Shareable Links- Sketch Viewer also let you view your files directly on the Web. Therefore, you will not be required to download any additional software for that.

According to its developers, the tool will soon add pixel diffing between versions to the tool. In addition, they claim that on their list of updating the tool, they are working on a way that will allow Sketch Viewer to integrate directly into Sketch App.

It uses Sketch Tool to get the images you share & view. Then they do some conversions that make sure all the artboards are laid out on the canvas in the same way as you see them in the Sketch App. In addition to the default OSX fonts, Sketch Viewer has also installed all of the Google Web fonts.

However, it is important to note that the tool may sometimes not show the right font on the Web preview. This is because they haven’t included a way to upload custom fonts on the OSX server, hence, causing some problems with the font rendering.

The tool is developed by Quinton Reese Pik, ATL developer, & Peter Stacho, a Co- Founder of SpeakPage. The startup is located in Toronto, Canada.
