If you’d like to get the power & convenience of a modern smartwatch but don’t like the wonky, chunky look of an iWatch or Android Wear device, then you might want to give this understated Scandinavian timepiece a try. The Falster, from traditional Danish watchmaker ‘Skagen’ is an austerely designed, minimalist Android Wear wristwatch that will make the day for both, fashionable watch & tech aficionados.
One potential drawback for smartwatch geeks, especially for fitness tracking enthusiasts is that, in order to fit the watch’s electronics into such a thin, small footprint, some functionality had to be sacrificed, such as the heart rate monitor, GPS & LTE connectivity. It does have a pretty good battery, lasting a full day on a charge, & it syncs with both iPhones (iOS 8.2+) & Androids (4.3+).
The Falster does come with the usual slew of smartphone features, including a customizable watch face, activity tracking, voice command input & smartphone notifications. The Falster is actually a pretty useful smartwatch, especially regarding some of the customization features, like the ease of showing times & temperatures in different time zones. Watch faces can easily be changed by doing a long press on the screen.
