Pocket recently launched its “listen” feature for better reading experience, the application & Web service recently announced on its Website’s blog. The Mozilla-owned service now enables readers to listen to their chosen ‘read it later’ articles from anyplace. The feature incorporates Amazon’s text-to-speech tool Polly to read out the bookmarked long form Content aloud, more like a personalized podcast, to users busy with their daily chores.
You may be cooking, driving to work, taking your daily walk or may be getting ready to hit the sack, all the while being hands-free listening to your favorite bookmarked posts; is how Pocket, founded in 2007, wishes to market this feature. Also in the offing is a team-up with Alexa skill & listening to pocket-ed Content via Alexa-enabled gadgets, like Amazon Echo, from any corner of the house.
The “redesigned” pocket, formerly known as Read It Later, offers to make reading on the go a pleasant experience. It comes designed with latest typography & user interface so as to make reading long posts easy on the eyes. Moreover, the dark theme is aimed to better the experience of reading at night.
